What People Say

Beth was very invested in me

Beth was a huge help throughout my first year of college. Initially, I just wanted help getting myself organized and with the transition from high school to college. However, Beth ended up helping so much more than that. She not only helped me have a smooth transition to college, but Beth helped me begin to figure out what major I want to pursue, what career I might want to have in the future, how to set up a LinkedIn account, and much more. Beth was very invested in me and offered me as much support as I needed. I really appreciated how understanding Beth was and the fact that our weekly meetings felt like talking to a friend. I feel like that made me more comfortable in sharing my experiences and asking for help. Overall, Beth was extremely helpful and I appreciate everything she did for me!

It helped me be successful

What I hoped to gain from your coaching was guidance and support as I transitioned into college. I knew that living on my own for the first time could make it difficult to maintain both strong grades and overall well-being, so it was important to me to set a solid foundation early on. Academic performance was especially critical because I planned to apply to business school. Your support helped me stay organized, develop a realistic schedule, and take advantage of campus resources like academic advisors and writing centers. Overall I found your guidance and support very helpful and it helped me be successful.

Student

You genuinely cared

The level of support I received was consistent, encouraging, and always tailored to what I needed at the time. You were not just a coach—you were a trusted thought partner. Your commitment to my progress was evident in how closely you listened, the thoughtful questions you asked, and the way you adapted your approach as things evolved. I never felt like just another student—you genuinely cared about my experience and success.

More organized, motivated, and self-confident

Beth has made a substantial impact on my son’s life and has turned his academic experience into a positive one. After a year off from school, she played a pivotal role in helping him reestablish his academic routine. Thanks to her support, he has become more organized, motivated, and self-confident. His academic performance has significantly improved, and he is now prepared to tackle another semester with Beth’s invaluable support.

You’ll never regret working with Beth

It’s easily the best investment we’ve made around our kids’ college education. Our oldest, a rising senior, presents real challenges around organization and executive functioning. Beth was instrumental in getting through the course selection and major requirements process with everyone’s sanity well in place. And even when our student lost a semester due to a broken leg, they will still graduate on time in part thanks to Beth’s advice as counseling. When our middle child was accepted to college, it was a no-brainer to work with Beth again. Our son does not have the same organization challenges but Beth guidance has been instrumental as he prepares to choose a major. We highly recommend Beth and now consider her a good friend! You’ll never regret working with Beth, especially if you are a busy parent new to the college process who desires to get it right.

Coaching was an excellent investment

The level of support and guidance our son received was outstanding. His coach built a genuine rapport with him, and that relationship was key to making the coaching effective. They struck the right balance between offering practical advice and encouraging self-reflection, helping him develop tools that will serve him beyond college. For other parents, we would describe the coaching process as warm, intentional, and student-centered. It’s not just about academic success—though that was certainly a benefit—but about empowering the student to take ownership of their experience. The coaching was an excellent investment, and we believe it made a significant positive impact on our son’s growth and ability to thrive in a challenging environment.

As a parent it is a very hard balance to know when to intervene

Once again I am so grateful to you for making a connection with S. As a parent it is a very hard balance to know when to intervene as these young people are growing into mature adults. As the semester progressed there were signs of concern. No one in his environment recognized this except you. I am happy that he is getting support and looking to the future. I certainly appreciate all you did for our family.

You have truly been a guiding star

As this year comes to a close, we are grateful for all the good counsel you have provided. You have put your personal touch in the large university setting, and it has made all the difference. Thank you for your constant, tremendous support of A, which has meant so much to all of us. My husband and I want to thank you for all everything you have done to support A. We are so grateful that you have been there 100% for all of us. You have truly been a guiding star.

I’ve become happier, more social, calm, and I even concentrate better; my grades have gone up

It’s been a while since we last met. I have been great! I would like to let you know that I am finally calm, relaxed, and stress free. Counseling has helped me tremendously! I finally learned how to better manage time in order to give myself hours to study, but also enough hours to dedicate to myself. It’s amazing what a few slots of total relaxation can do! I’ve become happier, more social, calm, and I even concentrate better; my grades have gone up 🙂 Thank you so much again for referring me to counseling, I really do appreciate it.

Thank you for all the encouragement

Thank you Beth! I was just looking at some old e-mails a few days ago and saw one from you from early last Spring semester with links to the Nepal Program and encouragement to follow my heart. Thank you so much for all the encouragement, reassurance, and support you gave me during the Spring – it was a very challenging time for me and I’m not sure I would be here in Nepal otherwise!

Beth’s advising made a huge difference

K came from a small all girls high school, well prepared, but certainly not advanced, and came with a great interest in creating her own major.  K tells me she has received excellent advice from Beth regarding enrollment in classes, navigating Cornell and getting the most out of her academic experience. While we, as parents and students, are all looking for “meaningful connections” and experiences it was a bit overwhelming. As “consumers”, we may all think we know what we want, but we don’t always really know what’s in our best interest!
